Over 150 years of hosting Clayton Counties toughest criminals the Jail House Inn is ready for a new type of inmate! Enjoy the unique lodging experience of staying in the recently renovated former Clayton County Jail. Choose one of four beautiful and comfortable suites, each with their own story, evidence and luxurious bathroom. Inmate capacity ranges from 2 to 5 inmates per suite, or rent the entire Jail House Inn for a party of up to 20! The kids will love telling their friends about the night in the clink.
We specialize in hosting large parties for all kinds of occasions, or just a simple weekend getaway to the natural beauty and small town living in Elkader, Iowa. Each suite has access to the gourmet kitchen, lighted gazebo, balcony with scenic overlook and of course everyone’s favorite, the cell block. Take a mug shot or play shuffleboard on our antique table. The Jail House is a lodging experience for the entire family!
